The SportBEC high capacity switch-mode BEC by Dimension Engineering powers your RC receiver and RC servos much more efficiently than a standard Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC).
The SportBEC can power up to 8 servos without worrying about an overheating BEC.
SportBEC is especially suited for sport rc model aircraft and glow conversions.
SportBEC is usually a necessity when using 4+ cell LiPo packs and also when running digital and/or high torque rc servos.
SportBEC's voltage output is selectable between 5V and 6V using a small slide switch on the side of the BEC.
The 6V setting is especially useful for helicopter flyers because it gives more speed and torque to the r/c servos.
A red LED glows when 6V is selected.
SportBEC does not create radio interference or glitching because it uses a shielded inductor and optimized layout.
For best results, ensure SportBEC is installed at least 2 inches (5.1 cm) away from your rc receiver and antenna.
SportBEC installs between your ESC and receiver. There is no need to modify your ESC speed control to disable its internal BEC.
Many hobbyists don't realize that their speed control's (ESC) BEC rating is misleading.
The linear BEC built into most ESCs causes the current rating to decrease as pack voltage increases.
For example, several popular 25A ESCs with "3A" BECs are only capable of supplying 0.5A when running from a 3 cell pack.
SportBEC can supply its full rated current of 3.5A all the way up to 8 cell lipos.

Note About Small Servos and SportBEC
Use the 5V setting for sub-micro servos or make sure they can run at 6V. For example the Hitec HS-50 and Futaba S3154 can be damaged by a 6V supply.
