The long awaited Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC) from Castle Creations is finally here: CC-BEC

The Castle Creations BEC draws power from your higher voltage main pack, (the motor batteries) and drops the voltage to a level that is suitable for your receiver and servos. This is required in applications which draw high power for multiple servos or use more than 3S motor packs, as most ESCs with linear BECs are not designed for these applications.

The Castle Creations BEC is programmable! Simply use the Castle Link USB programming cable (sold separately).

The Castle Creations BEC Battery Eliminator Circuit (CC BEC) is a little device that eliminates the need for a separate battery pack for your receiver and servo battery pack. Use only one battery! We recommend a Thunder Power LiPo.

Thunder Power RC has released the TP610C, their newest LiPo, A123, NiCd/MH and PB battery charger. The TP 610C charger can charge 1 to 6 LiPo and A123 cells, 1-14 NiCd and NiMH cells, and 6-12V Pb (lead acid) batteries. The Thunder Power TP-610C can charge, balance, discharge and cycle batteries and report back full data. The TP610 charger is capable of up to 10 amps (80 watts total) when charging. Using the TP 610 charger to cycle your battery packs will improve their performance, and the TP-610 charger’s built-in balancer will extend the life of your lithium packs!

Professor T. John Koo at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN has successfully built a system for autonomous flight using our Draganflyer V Ti RC helicopters. Prof. T. John Koo’s VECPAV Project (Vanderbilt Embedded Computing Platform for Autonomous Vehicles) focuses on developing intelligent control software for unmanned aerial and ground vehicles. Our Draganflyer V Ti RC helicopters were the perfect aerial vehicles for his research.

“The VECPAV system uses a sensor tracker to monitor the motion and position of a Draganflyer rc helicopter by using identifier points on the helicopter. The system then analyzes this data and sends commands back to the Draganflyer rc helicopter through a radio control transmitter, telling the Draganflyer rc helicopter to maintain position or move through its flight plan.”
