Thunder Power Batteries changes company name to Thunder Power RC to Expand in the RC Hobby Market
Thunder Power Batteries is now called Thunder Power RC. Famous for their Pro Lite and newer eXtreme series lipoly batteries, Thunder Power RC is a worldwide powerhouse in lithium polymer technology. ThunderPower RC’s reputation for extreme high quality is not just for their lipo batteries, they also manufacture Thunder Power R/C chargers & balancers. Recently, they have expanded to produce a line of ThunderPower R/C ESCs (Electronic Speed Controls) and their constant innovation has led them to break into the 3D RC helicopter market with the release of the new Thunder Power R C Extreme 450 helicopter. All of this expansion has resulted in the desire to rebrand to ThunderPower R C in order to embrace a larger section of the RC hobby market.
The change from Thunder Power Batteries to Thunder Power RC is purely cosmetic. The company structure and ownership remains the same. Charlie Wang remains as president and the Thunder Power RC headquarters remains in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
The new Thunder Power RC sports a new, less cluttered logo design that focuses on the company name rather than lithium polymer batteries. Continue reading to view the new logos.

Does the Draganflyer SAVS RC Helicopter Have The Capability of Taking Still Images As Well
Many people ask if the Draganflyer SAVS RC Helicopter can take still digital photos. The answer is yes, but the Draganflyer SAVS is intended primarily for recording and viewing a live aerial video feed, not taking still pictures. The quality of the still images can be defined as approximately 0.5 Megapixels or 710 x 480 pixels. Still images can easily be extracted from the video by means of any video editing program and you most likely already have a video editing program on your home PC. Pretty much every Windows XP computer comes with Windows Movie Maker and every Mac these days comes with iMovie. Both of these free video editing tools are very simple to use and both have a feature to capture individual frames to still images. Here is a still picture we grabbed from a Draganflyer SAVS video feed. This technique can also be used with video captured from your Draganflyer V Ti with Eyecam or your Draganflyer V Ti Pro.

New Low Cost GWS FMS (Flying Model Simulator) USB Cable – Lets You Fly RC Airplanes & Helicopters on Your PC
Want to fly an RC airplane or helicopter without worrying about crashing it as you start learning? Using an RC transmitter with trainer port, you can now fly airplanes and helicopters on your PC. The GWS FMS cable integrates your radio control transmitter with your computer, giving you a professional quality simulator at an amazingly low price.
These new GWS USB FMS simulator transmitter to PC interface cables are available in three versions depending on what brand of transmitter you have and what style trainer/buddy port it supports. Please note that some older Futaba transmitters use the round Hitec 6-pin plug type trainer port so be sure to double check your transmitter to be sure.
Here are the four versions of the transmitter interface cable:
- Hitec (round 6-pin plug) compatible FMS interface USB Cable
- Futaba (square 6-pin micro plug) compatible FMS interface USB Cable
- JR (1/8″ mono plug) compatible FMS interface USB Cable
- GWS (1/8″ stereo plug) compatible FMS interface USB Cable
What makes this possible is the low cost of the GWS USB FMS interface cable, and the availability of quality flight simulator software available for free download from the FMS Homepage.
Flight simulators have evolved quite a lot since they first came into existence. The first simulators used primative graphics and the computer keyboard as an input. As computer technology advanced, so did flight simulator software. The free flight simulator called FMS (Flying Model Simulator) is one of the best.

If you are a novice novice pilot, a flight simulator can be of great help. Use one to learn basics and hone your skills. Use it to practice nose in flight and other tricky maneuvers. Practice even when the weather is not good!
The new GWS FMS simulator USB interface cable features a low price, fast and accurate response to control input, and simple plug and play connectability. Used with the FMS software you can enjoy 3D flight with no risk of damaging an expensive aircraft. Load different R/C helicopter and airplane models, fly over your choice of landscapes, and even set parameters like wind speed to simulate real flight conditions.
The components necessary for a home flight simulator are:
- RC transmitter with trainer jack / buddy port
- USB FMS Cable
- Windows PC with USB port (Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP/Vista. Not compatible with Mac)
- Free FMS simulator software
For more technical information, see the flight simulator interface cable pdf manual.
